The Power of Wind: Learning is a Breeze

Free

Saturday, September 23, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Eustis Estate, 1424 Canton Avenue, Milton, Mass.

Join Historic New England educators and staff from the Milton Early Childhood Alliance for a unique literacy event to learn about the power of wind at the Eustis Estate. Explore the beautiful landscape while reading I Face the Wind by Vicki Cobb. During this StoryWalk®, families try fun wind-based experiments and activities, ending at the estate's 1902 powerhouse, which originally included a wind turbine to provide electricity to the main house. Once there, you're invited to make pinwheels, then face the wind and watch them spin. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds, and be sure to leave time to explore the inside of the museum.

This is a drop-in program. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended for children ages 4 to 10.

Free for Historic New England members and Milton residents
Included with museum admission for nonmembers
