Marie E. Daly, a director of the Waltham Land Trust and the Waltham Historical Society, presents an illustrated lecture on the history of land in Waltham. Discover how the underlying foundation of our modern landscape was shaped by colonial predecessors 350 years ago. Daly draws upon her research of land in Waltham, from seventeenth-century farms to twentieth-century subdivisions, and demonstrates how to research land parcels using family histories, deeds, tax records, town meeting minutes, and more. The lecture is illustrated with examples of historic Waltham properties, early maps, and colonial roads. Co-sponsored with the Waltham Land Trust.
