By the seventeenth century, blue and white ceramics encircled the globe. During this lecture, visit East, Central, and West Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Learn about the Asian and European blue and white collection at Codman House, including Chinese and Japanese porcelain, a dinner service with the famous Blue Willow pattern, and a Royal Copenhaden dinner service from Denmark. Lecturer Dr. Elizabeth ten Grotenhuis is professor (emerita) of Asian and Japanese art history at Boston University and associate of Japanese studies at Harvard University.
The lecture takes place in the Carriage House followed by an optional tour of the Codman House museum.
